Bird Specialties of Pakistan

Sooty Falcon:
Sooty falcon is a uniformly ashy grey-brown falcon. It is equal in size to a Hobby. Adults occur in both light and dark morphs. Sooty falcon is a specialty with a very limited distribution worldwide.

Habitat:
It is adapted to a highly arid coastal habitat.

World Distribution:
Sooty Falcon's range of occurrence is from extreme south-western Pakistan to African countries.

Distribution in Pakistan:
It occurs very sparsely in the Makran coast area. It has been recently re-discovered in Makran coastal region. Other suitable areas are Ormara and Chabbar.

Places to see Sooty Falcon:
In Pakistan, the best place to see the the Sooty Falcon is the Makran coastal region.
