Bird Specialties of Pakistan

Brown Rock-Chat/Indian Chat:
The Brown Rock Chat is a small sized passerine. Both the sexes of this specie appear similar in the field.

Habitat:
In Pakistan the preferred habitat of this bird is concrete jungles (urban centers). 
 
World Distribution:
The Global distribution of this specie is restricted to only 2 countries. These 2
countries are Pakistan and India.

The Brown Rock Chat is relatively commoner in India than it is in Pakistan. However, in India, this bird is a migrant specie and therefore visible in certain places only during particular seasons. In Pakistan the Brown Rock Chat is a resident specie.

Distribution in Pakistan:
It occurs in 5 or 6 different cities. 4 of these being Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Faisalabad. It is quite well established in these cities and populations are strong.

Places to see Brown Rock-Chat:
In Pakistan, the best place to see the the Brown Rock-Chat is Rawalpindi. Rawalpindi is the twin city of the capital Islamabad, hence it is easily accessible. Here populations are strong. Another good place is Lahore city. It is a must see.
