Leopard netted; being treated for partial paralysis
ISLAMABAD: The Marghzar Zoo authorities on Friday caught a partially paralysed adult leopard from a village alongside Margalla Hills.
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) security staff that first spotted the animal reported the sighting to the zoo officials. A team was then hurriedly dispatched which successfully captured the big cat with the help of nets after a long search and struggle from Village Kilanjer. Capital Development Authority’s Director (Zoo and Wildlife Management) Raja Javed told Daily Times that the animal was under treatment. “We have called up our veterinarians and have also sought the expertise of a former vet of the Bahawalpur Zoo to provide the animal with the best treatment possible,” he said. The animal is said to be a male and officials are hopeful of its recovery. They, however, are yet to ascertain the cause of the problem plaguing the leopard. staff report
